Hauora Wānanga and Noho
Wānanga and noho give whānau the opportunity to further explore their learnings from other programmes. They provide support and an educational environment based around whanaungatanga, kai, manaakitanga and kori tinana.
Using our expertise as well as bringing in specialist coaches, mentors and tutors, we create an environment to continue to fill the kete of whānau. These wānanga cover a range of kaupapa including self-belief, triathlon preparation, cycling workshops, running technique, kai preparation, and te ao Māori kaupapa including introduction to te reo Māori, pukapuka reading with pēpi, haka and waiata.
The Whānau Whanake annual calendar includes two noho based around well-known kori tinana events. After completing our programmes throughout the year, noho is a celebration; three days of kai, wānanga, whanaungatanga and manaaki. Whānau come together to complete their event with the support of the wider Whānau Whanake hapori, where they explore and embrace their Māoritanga and nurture the relationships created.
